The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We met some nice people. The only reason I didn't give Dene House the top rating was because our bedhead was not attached to the wall and became annoying when turning over in the middle of the night.

Location

The Beatrix Potter tour on the other side of the lake is a must....by foot, not on a coach!

Very nice accommodation with outstanding breakfasts, room cosy and adequate for our 1 night stay, would definitely use this accommodation again as good value for money. Parking was good and not too far to walk into Bowness, overall a pleasant place to stay.

Location

As we live in the Durham area we are often visiting the Lake District - only 2 hour drive from home but on this occasion stayed overnight as we had family staying close by for a family birthday.

all in all we found the accommodation and hospitality very good and good value for money

we found the area very crowded but the trip on the lake was very good we also had a very good meal in a local hotel

Our stay at Dene House, although only one night was a very anjoyable interlude. Our hosts were a charming and friendly couple, the room was well maintained and of a high standard, the breakfast met all our needs and was very well presented. A nice touch was the call we recieved from our hosts giving us exact directions to the accomodation and asking whether out journey was progressing OK.

Location

Before making our way to Dene House we took lunch at a pub called Ye Old John Peel, the food offer was very good and reasonbly priced.

Dene House exceeded our expectations, it was very welcoming, beautiful decorated and the accommodation was of a high standard, breakfast was served to a high standard in a very pleasant dining room

We didn't do any sightseeing on this occasion as we were in the Lakes for a wedding

We could not find anything to complain about.Room was very nice, food excellent and everyone was very helpful.

Location

Bowness was a very nice base for the Lakes and when we go back it will be to Dene House.

Mainly for the hospitality as these good people printed out pages for us to tell us where we needed to go, also gave us honest opinions of sites. The food was good, the room was lovely. but the people are what endeared us to this place and gave us great memories. They made us feel like friends.
