Lovely accommodation, lovely garden, lovely food and the most welcoming of hosts with an exceptional flair for making a stranger realy welcome! Leaving the car behind it's the best location for transport into York centre and East coast with frequent bus services to York and other places from bus stops right out side the premises or a very short walk away. Very quiet location in charming village setting.

Location

First rate for a day trip to the coast including Whitby, Filey, Scarborough and/or Robinhoods Bay and, of course, all the unrivalled attractions of York itself. Even Hull or Leeds are just a - lengthy - bus ride away. Ideal for persons with bus passes, the whole of the transport network is very accessable from this location.

Excellant value for money. Beautiful decor and extremely clean. Lovely hospitality from owner Josie. Breakfast as good as any 1st class hotel! Would highly recommend this B & B

The house was lovely and the couple running it were very friendly and helpful. The door to our en suite facilities didn't quite fit and we had to ask for a hair drier - but all in all we enjoyed the stay. We stayed in seven different B&Bs during the week and would rate this as one of the best. It was very good value for money.

We really enjoyed our stay at ambleside. Josie was our host there. Nothing was too much trouble, she was really friendly. The house was beautiful, and the food was divine. The rooms were massive, the adults room had a bath and shower in the en suite which was great. the childrens room was big too, my two really loved it. Everything was really clean, it felt like home from home. It was very peacefull at night. There is a really nice pub nearby called The Fox and Hound which serves really good food. Also just down the road there is a really nice indian restaurant. We really enjoyed our weekend there and we have reccomended it to all our friends, we will definately be back again. Thankyou Josie for a lovely weekend xx

Bus stop right outside the garden entrance which takes around 20 mins to get into york. regular running times aswell (even on a sunday)
