Situated in the village of Near Sawrey, our 17th Century Lakeland cottage is an ideal location for touring the English Lake District. Near Sawrey is famous because of its former resident Beatrix Potter, the childrens' author who created timeless characters such as Peter Rabbit. The former home of the writer and artist, Hill Top Farm, is situated almost next door to our guest house. Prices from: £45 per person/night
Buckle Yeat has 6 en suite bedrooms, which are tastefully decorated and furnished with your comfort in mind. All our light, airy bedrooms, are non-smoking and individually decorated. They are all equipped with TV, tea/ coffee making facilities and hairdryers. The oak beamed lounge with flagged floor, warming open log fire, antique furniture and ample cosy armchairs is perfect for relaxing after a long day's walking.

Buckle Yeat itself is notable for its inclusion in the following stories written and illustrated by Beatrix Potter: 'The Tale of Tom Kitten', 'The Pie and Patty Pan' and 'Pigling Bland'. Our guest house is ideal for discovering the real Lakeland as it is only 1½ miles from Hawkshead, 5 miles from Ambleside and 2 miles from Windermere when using the ferry. The Lake District itself provides access to a range of outdoor activities, including horse riding, hiking, fishing, walking, golf, bird watching and water sports.
